- Lawyers professional development:
Geeklawyer blogged a while back about what a pain CPD is (here):
The main practical issue with CPD is the considerable expense of the courses and the fact that one needs to take a day or so out of fee earning in order to do the course. Since blogging that article Geeklawyer discovered an excellent concept: the online CPD course from the Legal Practitioner. No longer need one waste days away from work: just do your CPD hours online!! The courses are accredited by the Bar Council, the Law Society and the Institute of Legal Executives so they all count towards your requirements. The courses themselves are varied and genuinely useful. The are also very very good value: a years subscription is merely £400 + VAT or just £40 + VAT for a single hour CPD course. Good value.
(Geeklawyer is not being paid to say this, and uses the courses himself.)
Society for Computers and the law:
[If you are involved in IT & the law you really should be a member of SCL]
SCL is the leading UK organisation focussing on the development of IT-related law. SCL offers its members free on-line CPD for only £95.00 per year. Our online CPD courses are linked to webinars and our site content. All members have to do is to read or listen, then answer the related course questions to claim accredited CPD. Each time a member passes an online CPD course it is recorded on their personal page which is available via the My SCL link.
