Retarded copper Pc David Micklethwaite, a firearms course failure, accidentally shot civilian work Keith Tilbury in the stomach with a Magnum, landing Tilbury in intensive care for two weeks. Clearly the only Magnum dimbo Micklethwaite should be in possession of is the ice-cream.
Still, it could have been worse: if Tilbury had been a Brazilian electrician he’d be very dead. Tasers anyone?
The Chief Constable of Avon and Somerset Police Colin Port says that he is prepared to go to jail rather than return suspected child pornography. Of course such an emotive topic is bait for saying that he is justified; he has, no doubt, calculated exactly how high his moral high horse is: but what is troubling is that, given a clear order from no less than two judges of the High Court that he has unlawfully seized material, he still thinks he knows better than them what he must do and he has chosen to defy them.
The fact that it is an unproven allegation of child pornography makes no difference: this cretin is an officer of the State and sworn to uphold the law, not merely his own opinions of what is right. When senior policemen think they are too high and mighty to obey the courts and the law then this country is malfunctioning badly.
Constable Port must be cited for contempt and jailed forthwith, as an example to other bent (i.e. those who defy their proper duty) policemen.

Additionally Indymedia assert that it was not until Bates started giving regular evidence on behalf of Defendants that he got busted. The suspicion would have to be that he is being “fitted up” by Somerset police in revenge.
Geeklawyer is a great fan of silly Facebook groups. he very much approves of the public trashing of the London Underground on the last day of legal drinking. It was a very sad to see Boris allow this bit of nanny-ism proceed: one expected it of the sleazy cunt Livingstone. Ho hum.
More encouraging was that the Brighton filth seem to understand that the custard pie throwing event on Brighton beach is ‘just a laugh’. The ban on it that everyone talks about is merely because the numbers have shot up from a few dozen to about 1500 and they have only asked for a stay while they ensure that it is organised safely. Brighton Filth have a poor reputation as do much of the Sussex police but this does at least show that however low a collective IQ they have, the basic urge for fun will sometimes overreach jobsworthery. Ho ho hum.
Geeklawyer is in despair over the reports (via the hugely useful Inner Temple news blog) of the criminal ineptness of the Independent Police Complaints Commission. Charges allege that, almost universally, poorly trained inexperience junior staff who are rude slow and police biased are supervised by unqualified inexperienced barely trained managerial staff.
