As an aside to the hoo-ha one obvious point does not appear to reached prominence in the press coverage: Did he have to give his DNA? Some news sources say he did have DNA taken others say not. Surely the fact he is a prominent politician won’t get him preferential treatment?
Geeklawyer rang the Met’s press office (0207 230 2171) and they said “we don’t comment on that” (why, one wonders!).
A FOI request has been submitted and when a response is received it will blogged.
New blog post: Arrest of Damian Green MP — DNA taken? http://tinyurl.com/6f7fvt
I could be entirely mistaken… but I thought all people arrested, even for overgrown hedges(not that it got quite that far in my case), had DNA swabs taken.…. we really need White Rabbit to answer these difficult criminal law questions… let’s face it… you are on record as saying that you don’t know how criminal lawyers manage to afford lunch — and I write nonsense on a blawg… so by no means authoritative on this vexed issue.
Good to be back on a blog comments section… not limited to 140 letters… can write even more bollocks than on Twitter… Thanks for turning spell check on.… makes my comments look as if I speak English.
