McCartney wins big time

The judgment is in.

Paul MacCartney paid £24.3 million rather than the £15.8 million he wanted to pay Mills: i.e. 6.5% over his claim. The golddigger wanted £125 million (“it’s nothing to do with the money”) & so got 87% less than she wanted.

By Geeklawyer’s (corrected, *blush*) calculations McCartney won 13 to one. Even so, that was some very expensive sex. He’d have been better off hiring a high priced call girl: oh wait. Erm, no: don’t wait: that accusation was never pursued against her as Geeklawyer understands it; he presumes this is so because it was either utterly untrue — or that it was true but they could not secure the evidence. Imagine the F&BPs for that one!:

REQUEST

Has the Claimant ever worked as a high priced call girl?

ANSWER

The Claimant is embarrassed by the question as she is not sure what a ‘high price’ is.

  • Having given away the kind of sex that most mean dream of for the price of a dinner, Ms R wonders where she went wrong..

She needs to know how to price herself — lawyers, help please.

  • I wonder how much you’d get out of Ringo, enough to get a round in?

  • Serves her right, expecting to profit off earnings prior to their marriage.

Wonder what would happen if Yoko remarried…

    • I went past Yoko in a street near Chancery Lane about 10 years ago. Slightly surreal. I was mildly tempted to say “you fucked up the Beatles you bitch”. She didn’t have any minders so I’d have got away with it.

  • … to which I hope Yoko would have replied “get over it”

  • I wouldn’t normally presume to correct you GL, but my understanding is that Paul’s offer was £8m — he proposed that she should exit the marriage with assets of £15.8 million, inclusive of her own assets of £7.8m. (Sorry if I’m being dull.)

Still, your point about expensive sex remains…

  • Is that right-I thought she got £24m and he had offered £15m?

  • Oh-I see JB made the same point.

  • She can’t fly first class any more

  • Expensive sex.…? I have heard that some people have a ‘thing’ about starting litigation simply because they can then go to a truly expensive law firm and endure the possibility of financial ruin… at the hands of people dressed in unusual outfits…

I don’t know. I could be wrong… but I’m sure I had Google “Safe Search is ON’ when I started looking for information about top law firm fees in 2008.

  • I was brought up properly. I was always told … “Charon.. when you go to a party… do your best to understand and tolerate the unusual behaviour of others.. fit in… play up… play up… play the game…”

So I did… and now I find myself wondering when GL is going to put a pole on his blawg so we can all do a bit of pole dancing late of an evening.…

Please understand.. when I go on to various English religious websites (of all variants — I do not discriminate) as I surely will on Good Friday.… I shall fit in… I have been to B&Q… so should be able to knock up the necessary accessories and comply with ‘dress code’.

Sorry… must go… off to my pontius pilates class…at Esporta.… must keep myself in shape.…

  • Scunnered, O'Aberdein

maybe there was a discount factor for not being able to play footsie properly?

  • Yeah, you’d want a high class call girl with two legs
