Barristers are such well bred gentleman (even the ladies) the judge can sit on the bench without fear. Unless, that is, a solicitor inadequate appears before him: these are a rough cut bunch who rarely shave (yes, even the ladies) or change their underwear (yes even [etc]) or bother to read the case papers. Invariably they are also drunk and/or high on drugs. All bets are off with a solicitor inadequate. The question will never arise.
