Podcast with Charon

Geeklawyer just did a podcast with Charon on filesharing - among other topics. The sound is awful at Geeklawyer’s end and that is his fault not CharonQC’s, but it is still a good listen.

Hear it here.

I haven’t listened to your podcast yet-Carling cup seemed a better bet but Spurs have just scored again, so maybe not.

Isn’t the threat of action against ISPs utterly ludicrous?
Whatever the law might say, digital content will inevitably be copied and distributed by the internet. Is it really the job of the government to protect industries from new technology which has made their business model obsolete?

What is the Carling cup? I am familiar with most Rugby competitions but this one appears to have past me by.

Oh I agree. It’s trite observation by now, but the digital era has changed the music and film market irretrievably. The *IAA/BPI don’t seem to realise that and are still stomping around as though it was 1973.

I wish it was 1973; I’d know I could fuck Gaynor Buckley because she really wanted it as well. Oh, and I’d buy every Microsoft share I could in 1980, then sell them in 1997 and buy Google shares.
Why doesn’t life work like that? As the BPI are finding out things aren’t always fair.

My Dear Geek,

The Carling Cup is a cricket competition.

Gaynor Buckley had a narrow escape.

By the way, why are you sending Ms Robinson your spare underwear?

Ms Buckley has had a lucky escape: a threateningly huge number of orgasms.

My Dear Geek,

The only thing of a barrister which is ‘threateningly large’ is his costs.
