Geeklawyer, dapper elegant — the Beau Brummel of the Bar, long ago invented his own tie knot after some dissatisfaction with those taught to him at his rather mediocre public school. He was horribly distraught to learn today that he had, in fact, re-invented the Windsor Knot.
Bugger.
Please, I implore you, return to a four-in-hand. All other knots are so non-u.
I did a windsor knot for my secondary school tie. I went to an all girl catholic school (make of it what you will) and in my final year of schooling there I was deemed senior enough to wear a tie. I, naturally, learnt the windsor knot so that I could have a perfectly symmetrical knot hanging round my neck.
Geeklawyer.… I’m sorry, but a Windsor knot is just too much… you may be minor royalty yourself, but, please, in the interests of sanity, please forbear, neigh, desist, from using a ‘Windsor’.
You were a credit to all, at the UK Blawgers conference, in terms of your dress sense. put many of us to shamee
I take it that you don’t wear bow ties?
I fear I have in the past worn bow-ties on non dinner jacketed occasions and would think that I shall indulge occasionally in future. Is this too too naf? What would be your choice of knot? is VM’s assertion of the four in hand as totally U correct?
GL… I advise caution on the wearing of bow-ties. After all, you do NOT want to look as if you should be presenting Bargain Hunt on TV.…
CharonQC: or worse still a chavvy snooker player; they have also ruined my penchant for fancy waistcoats. Scum.
