Now this *would* be worth patenting

Scientists in the Netherlands are trying to grow meat in the lab. No messy animals fasted production and, of course, no ethical issues.

The cloggies are taking meat stem cells and stimulating them to reproduce and grow. They then use electrical pulses to make the cells stronger by simulating exercise.

On the matter of ethics Geeklawyer suspects that vegans would take a abortionist-like stance and claim that a single stem cell ‘is a living entity’ and so the meat would remain unethical.

Geeklawyer also thinks that such meat is unethical: if there’s nothing feeling pain where’s the fun in meat eating?

What would your view be if scientists starting growing lawyers in a laboratory?

It would certainly bring the costs down for City law Firms in terms of recruitment.

I’d be OK with that. But would you be able to eat them too? It would be cool to hire a lawyer, win the case and take him to lunch after.
