Rubbish of course. Still, Ruthie and Geeklawyer had fun. And we say things about sex. So it’s got to be good.

Great podcast…. I had a glass of vino.. and enjoyed this stream of consciousness…
Geeklawyer in a PVC thong? Hmm, may actually be worth attending the conference after all.
I do like Ruthie’s voice: a late-1950s Vassar pottery major in major heat. So will work harder to settle cases here in States. And Ruthie for godssake give GL my mobile in case we have the time and the geography during his trip to US for some manly, aristocratic yet downwardly-mobile bowling…
Slightly worrying since Vassar didnt become co-educational until 1969. Dan, is there anything you need to tell us?
Of course I wil give your mobile number to GL, I’m just teasing him. GL you have my permission to meet Dan on the understanding you tell him nothing. NOTHING y’hear?
What about really basic stuff: age, weight, collar size…?
if you have any particular questions then I suggest you email them to me and I’ll do my best to answer. I’m not sure that I want to publish all my personal details on the blog, although Geeklawyer does his best to keep everyone informed.
Christ, this is getting like the ‘pick-up Ruthie’ blog.
Can you not just email each other?
yeah, but then we wouldn’t get to wind you up, and where’s the fun in that?
I’ve sent you Dans phone number. I suggest you go bowling with him and make friends. xxx
Assuming you trust me to be honest of course
I will–and of course I trust you. You are a woman–what’s not to trust…?
I wonder If I’m allowed to attend the event? I work for the company who publish the Lawyer although I hasten to add I’m not a journalist. I’m a big fan of the blog and of lawyers blogging in general and would be very keen to attend if acceptable to you.
Given that this blog is unlikely to be awarded any academic awards in the near future, Ruthie is astonished at the levels of popularity. (Maybe that’s why we are so popular)
Needless to say it affords Ruthie a platform for her heretical views which she never managed to obtain via the official channels. The Bar Council claim to consult the profession but the only people who get consulted are people who have already been accepted into the club and therefore hold the approved worldview.
Ruthie speculates about what you do if you work for The Lawyer but are not a journalist; in-house geek? Polish plumber? Famous British lyricist and playwright? Be aware the event is being sponsored by the Law Society Gazette, and I believe Geeklawyer may have entered into a “Hello!” style exclusive coverage deal with them, but I’ll need to check that.
I don’t see any problem with you attending, but best await the verdict from GL. I know he’s checking this site from abroad, so will no doubt let you know. Assuming its ok, please sign up on the registration page, same for anyone else who still wants to attend.
Will: since GL hasnt bothered to respond I suggest you just sign up. Look forward to seeing you there.
I like the music, coupled with Ruthie’s input it makes it sound almost professional.
I was wondering how to discourage Ruthie from the podcasts as she lowers the tone. She will no-doubt be heartened by your views. I think, however, that an American female non-lawyer might be better - and I just happen to know someone
