Have you sent the email, ruthie? Haven't received anything as yet. legalscribbles@gmail.com will get through to me.

Laptop sounds good. My Dell Latitude also has a 3g SIM under the bonnet. I have not, however, given Voda my cash as yet - the wife wouldn't be best pleased if I had constant access to email/internet/etc...

Mmm. Well dont get too excited. Its a bog standard Acer travelmate 4280, but loaded with Vodafone mobile connect so you've got internet access everywhere. So in theory at least you dont need to carry a mobile phone and the laptop ("take two devices into the office? I just bag and go...") Oh and openoffice. Fortunately I am only required to write 500 words for the review...

Nah I was told they simply wipe them as soon as they get them back. So GL: I assumed it was therefore safe to install naked photos of you.

Point taken Martin (damn these smartarses), Ok as near as one can get. Clearly Microsoft is the air we breathe (or at the very least the metaphorical parchment upon which we write.)

BTW Martin, sorry I haven't been in touch about the Masters degree, I've sent you a mail tonight. If I'm going to do it I need to get it sorted pronto.

Perhaps I should install Ubuntu Linux on it? That'll confuse the Law Society Gazette

I'm not quite sure how you're going to test "whether it is truly possible to function for a week in the 21st Century without Microsoft" when the laptop is apparently running Vista, but hey ho...

Are we allowed to know the make of the laptop?

"<em>Love and kisses to the Law Society who not merely embrace Information Technology but give it tongues and a good spanking</em>"
This must be a first even for Ruthie: cuckolding Geeklawyer with an entire organisation. What a strumpet

When I made the old staple joke about CD trays as coffee cup holders I hadn't realised Ruthie's astonishing technical ineptness. She talks of Geeklawyer making her into a geek but this puts the lie to *that* claim!!

And while I'm pleased to see Ruthie get the anti-Microsoft bug she should a) realise that Google is now the new bad guy, b) reign in her new religious feelings lest she look a bid nuts.

I'm looking forward to a play with this fabled laptop so that it can be properly assessed. Quite why the Law Society Gazette gave such an uber-shiny toy to Ruthy for analysis rather than Geeklawyer is unclear, unless they just wanted a dumb end user
