I don't speak Japanese. I shall chant in Latin and swing a smoking handbag around as I do my procession to the pulpit...and, from there... I shall perorate, hyperbolate and may even hyperventilate. OK if I give myself a bit of communion and take wine? Happy to share with the congregation provided they don't drink too much of it. I am, as it happens, looking forward to the event. I usually do Chelsea Flower Show, a bit of Henley, Glyndebourne - but I have tired of the season.... only so much Royalty one can cope with as a Republican... and now that the toffs have taken to parodying themselves (Viz: WebCameron et al).... observing the 'elite' of British Society ain't wot it woz.... So.... Lawblog 2007 will fill a big gap in my social calendar this year... OK…OK…. no steel drums… no powerpoint… so last year….. I don’t speak Japanese. The public acceptance of blogging dilutes the impact of the blogging community as a public forum for protest and collaborative outrage. Speakers corner has only loonies, and the blawgosphere will soon be only unimaginative students of the internet who care more for online footprint than their flashmobs? What is the blawgosphere coming to? Perhaps it's time to put down the computer and start that part-time PhD I've been talking about for the last year... Perhaps... F*ck it.
