Ruthie has vowed to lose 9.5 Kilos so that she can cox a men’s rowing team. At the moment if she sat in the cox’s chair the boat would sink. That’d be fine if she was coxing for Cambridge but she isn’t. And the team would like to cut through the water at more than 0.1 knots, which is the best that they could realistically make with an elephant in the front of the boat. An elephant or Ruthie.
So 9.5 kilos must be lost in 15 weeks at 0.63 Kg (1.4lb) per week. 23 July is the date.
If she meets that goal Geeklawyer will donate £200 to a charity of Ruthie’s choosing, Minor Junior will donate £1000 and High Court Judge will donate £1200. Anyone else up for sponsorship? Needn’t be big money like us fellows.
And if she fails to make it? An appropriate humiliation is under negotiation.

It’s a fair cop. Funny Ruthie didn’t spot this minor flaw in my post. One wonders if she is really doing any coxing. Photographic proof is demanded.

Thanks for the tip. Love the site. The pink hippo is very appropriate! I was after a rowing top, but all the ones I had seen so far were ghastly so I will definitely get a pink leander one.
Coxing is a tough job, but someone has to do it. Of course Ruthie’s decision to cox was not at all influenced by a desire to have complete control over lots of fit sweaty men, and being able to shout “Come on boys, give me more.” in public with a completely straight face.
However nefarious ruthie’s motives her crew seem unfazed and we seem to be doing rather well. I’ll let readers know when we enter our first competition.
