According to the Telegraph on Sunday Blair had his allies warn-off the police when they wanted to interview him under caution. Geeklawyer thought at the time that to not do so was very surprising, given his apparently central role. Geeklawyer had assumed the usual shenanigans and was, it appears, correct to do so.
Since the officer in charge is supposed to be experienced and a bit of a hard-nut Geeklawyer is very surprised that he was bullied and outmaneuvered. The next time Geeklawyer is arrested for gun running he too will say that it makes his position at the Bar untenable and threaten to resign; after all, we are all equal before the law, so that will be bound to work.
