Geeklawyer’s ISP screwed up and trashed the blog. OK there are backups. The problems is that Geeklawyer has found serious bugs in Wordpress (yea the Wordpress guys would probably call them ‘design limitations’) that means he cannot easily recover old posts and comments.
Alarmingly the only comments he could initially recover were Ruthie’s. And this site was for a time comprised of her postings alone. Not only was that tedious to read it was an affront to Geeklawyer & so he laboured long into the night to figure out a solution. The hacked solution exists but is going to be laborious to implement.
So in the mean time this site is likely to be up and down more frequently than Ruthie’s knickers at a rich lawyers conference. Yes, that much.
And since Ruthie is 38 this Wednesday he thought that for the short period of anarchy while the blog is restored, as a birthday present to accompany his expensive card, he’d indulge her fantasy in taking over the blog: hence the title and strap-line.
Revel in your accidental victory Ruthie: it will last but a fleeting moment.
update 1.40am: Sanity is restored; Geeklawyer’s posts are now back. However cleaning up the mess remains and stuff like spam traps and other site add-ons still need to be installed. So things are likely to be a bit flaky around the edges for a while yet.

I am pleased to see that you are back Geeklawyer… I was a bit worried that you may have been operating dodgy phone-in competitions and had either decided to pull yourself or you had been closed down.
I wasn’t going to tell you… but I downloaded some voodoo softwarefrom the net… from http://www.baronsamedi.com and it worked… I really did not expect it to… fortunately I was able to contact the webmaster and he said he could bring your blog back to life…. … well, mostly….provided we did not start singing Michael Jackson songs from ‘Thriller’. .
They told me that you will get most of the posts back… but may not get Ruthie back.
Let me know if Ruthie does not come back… because I paid by Visa card to get the last plug-in…. and I did include Ruthie with all her previous posting privileges.
Just be pleased that I am not a Roman Catholic priest with time on his hands and a need to do exorcisms… next time it could be worse… Exorciso te romanum… spritus immundissime… etc etc…

Posting on your blog at 10.08 pm on a Friday night would almost warrant an investigation by the CPS and an injunction by a government lawyer .
I am only glad that iIride a motorbike…don’t have to pay a congestion charge…and, therefore, the government hasn’t a clue where I was earlier this evening…. I subscribe to Orange…(I am, therefore, out of signal for much of my life) - so I won’t be traceable on my mobile either.
I am pretty sure the CCTV cameras in Chiswick did not pick me up tonight when I arrived at The Swan in the back of a hearse for last orders.

I plan to re-introduce all the plugins as soon as possible. I am writing a special Charon Wordpress plugin I think I shall make it delay posting posts until late at night and then to other peoples blogs. It may not work but it’s worth a try.
