Well done on the patch-up job, GL (although I do wish you would take this opportunity to get rid of Kubrick!)

The restoration of the link to Legal Scribbles and conflictoflaws.net would be much appreciated. I have, of course, linked to you on Legal Scribbles, but I don’t think I can add one on conflictoflaws.net (at least not without a warning about explicit content…)

Not a huge fan of Kubrick - but mainly because it wastes space. And of course its the classic sign of an under-administered blog.

Getting a proper Geeklawyer theme is on my list of ‘shit to do real soon‘. I might even commission something - or do it myself in between ripping-off under billing clients.

You didn’t have a link to me previously, but I’d be grateful for one if you are willing. I’m new on the block but won’t be posting more than once or twice a week tops, I’d have thought.

Sorry for your disaster - was it the ISP or Wordpress that was at fault, or can’t you tell? Bit worried as I’m just getting to grips with Wordpress and don’t want a similar experience!

Oh, it was assuredly an ISP issue.

Glad to see the restoration, although I’d be another vote for ditching Kubrick. I’d be grateful if Nearly Legal could be likewise restored to the blog roll.

I have backups of my blog, but your experience is a worrying precedent.

Is that a picture of ganja at the top of this blog?

Link me up baby.

Ganja? Blimey CorporateBlawg, I guess you don’t smoke much weed then…

I’d say it was some sort of deciduous shrub. You probably could smoke it but I suspect you you’d only get as high as a shrub. And you’d probably feel an ickle bit queasy.

Not sure if it’s just me, but this site is like wading through treacle at the moment - it’s painfully slow.

Maybe I should take advantage of your ailing site and invite Ruthie over to Legal Scribbles…

Martin,
No I don’t think it’s just you I’ve been using this ISP for small stuff for a while and it has been fine but today and yesterday its been very poor indeed: huge time-outs. I will give it a bit of time and whinge to the hosting company but if it doesn’t improve I think I’ll have to hunt for another ISP. *sigh*

Well what do you know, it’s no longer lagging. Did you give it a swift kick up the backside or something?

Performance seems to be up and down. I’ll see how it goes.

You won’t steal Ruthie: you can’t give her the side benefits ;)

Spoke too soon. It seems fine in small spurts, but then dies off again suddenly.

My host has never had a speed problem, per se, but it did go down entirely for about a week a few months ago. I promised myself that if it happened again, I’d switch to another host (Media Temple and A Small Orange come to mind for good WP hosts.)
