Blimey. There are so many UK law blogs turning up that Geeklawyer is starting to lose count. This is a good thing. Geeklawyer was alerted to Legal Beagle by the eternally vigilant Binary Law.

Legal Beagle practises in that most troublesome of areas: criminal law. It is evident from even a casual perusal of her entries that Geeklawyer did the right thing in choosing intellectual property law: the fees are much better and work is plentiful. And it’s great for picking up chicks at parties.

OK, that last bit was made up.

This blog has only been running since the 26th of January 2007 so Geeklawyer wishes her well and hopes that she enjoys the cathartic release of a blog.

He says ‘she’ because the author is female: huzzah! There are not enough women legal bloggers. Furthermore Geeklawyer not entirely sure whether Legal Beagle is the first UK female barrister to blog — he’s happy to be corrected but he recalls no-one prior to this. And of course it’s good to finally have a proper lady lawyer blogging: Ruthie is jolly good, in her own way, but she is, when all’s said and done, just a solicitor-advocate :P (oops, for reasons that may become apparent on this blog one day that may have been a spectacularly poorly timed wind-up).
