I love the game of rugby. Though, I'm not from a country that takes as seriously as others. Seems to be quite a passion in some commonwealth countries.

"when he was asked to spend a bit of time away from the UK because of an unfortunate incident with a spliff which a friend at Eton had given him"

I trust that you have passing on wisdom about said experience to your old peer Mr Cameron recently, Charon?

My football claim to fame is far less impressive than Charon's; my uncle used to play for Arsenal. Still, the odd free ticket to Highbury/Emirates is not to be sniffed at.

"The standard of conversation is better ..."

"Get out of bed and make the tea ...
No you ...
No, you make it ...
I said it first ...
But I'm the boss ...
Its my flat ...
Yea, so I'm the guest ...
Oh Christ anything to stop you nagging
"

As a gentleman I won't reveal the lady concerned. She is, however, a lawyer.

I remember the old days of good amateur rugby....

I have no problem operating on myself - saves time. don't get bird flu or MRSA.... and it is cost effective

A motorbike accident back in Octovber last year gave me the opportunity to do some 'self surgery'.

I quite enjoyed stitching my own leg up

I know that you may find this surprising - but 'young Charon' played for Real Madrid 30 years ago..... (when he was asked to spend a bit of time away from the UK because of an unfortunate incident with a spliff which a friend at Eton had given him.)

Scored five goals against Manchester United one night and then... but two days later - put a goal into the back of the net against München-Gladbach - unfortunately I was a bit juiced up on Weissbier and only realised that it was our own goal when General Franco ran onto the pitch and asked me to leave. It was shortly after this bizarre evening that I made the decision to drink Rioja...

Ahhh.... the life and times of Charon.....

Yeah, tempting...but that would be exploitation which Ruthie finds ugly. She does have some principles. No Ruthie much prefers to play with the big clever ones. The standard of conversation is better and if parted from their cash they play a fully informed and consenting role in the process...

Your sport, and once mine, would be greatly improved if the did allow it to have bodies at the pointy end. It would be much more fun to try and hit moving, say, chavs than circles printed on cardboard.
