New jobs

Ruthie has a new job. Geeklawyer has been trying to get her to blog about it but she seems curiously reticent. The perplexing thing is that the the new firm are aware of the blog; indeed they actually read it before making an offer: weird huh? But in the circumstances £11,000 a year and luncheon vouchers was a pretty good deal for Ruthie.
Geeklawyer admires them for having the nerve to pay over the odds. Well done Frisbees, you might even not regret it, who knows.

Uh, they’ll like you more if you spell their name right: Frisby. But then your track record on spelling none too hot eh?

Careful or before you know it they’ll be all over the blog….

You have the nerve to talk about spelling? I should have bought you a dictionary for Xmas.

Then you’d have been able to spell ‘Humour’ …

Are they going to be terribly disappointed when they discover that I keep you around for the (unintentional) humour value only?

“… when they discover that I keep you …”

This would explain why Ruthie is able to accept a job at 11kpa

I think it unlikely Ruthie is a kept woman

Ruthie is most defininitely not a kept woman. But she’s open to offers :-)
And if Geeklawyer makes any more rude comments about my job, I won’t let him share my luncheon vouchers.

The idea of Ruthie being a kept woman is, of course, absurd. Who’d want keep her when there are so very many younger slimmer prettier solicitor-advocates around?

To compound her sins she is sitting in a Bulgarian Internet cafe writing blog comments when she should be be skiing! How sad is that?! At least I use my skiing time productively: drinking lots of mulled wine in the mountain restaurants.

Can we expect a glamorous picture of Ruthie in the Moving On page of the Gazette in the next couple of weeks?

Why thank you for reminding me Alex. I did have a glamorous picture in the moving in section when I moved to my previous job so I don’t see why I shouldn’t do it again. Hmm…wonder if the gazette would print a photo of me in my pink leathers…

To Geeklawyer: you should be pleased I’m thinking of you. But you should be aware I have a new love in my life, purchased today. My new snowboard…

I’m not saying that boarding is better than sex, but it comes a very close second.

I suppose it makes a nice change for you to purchase the new love in your life, rather than them purchasing you :P
And do I rather lose track of all the new loves in your life: a judge here, a junior there, a QC over there. Still at least the snowboard won’t have jealousy tantrums :)
I do hope you are taking lots of pics & preferably an embarrassing one of you falling on your arse.

anyone reading this might form the impression that you were an incy wincy bit jealous yourself. Although of course I know thats not the case.

I’m sad to say that I haven’t taken any pics, as I’m terrified of either smashing my camera or breaking my ribs by landing on the camera on one of the more spectacular falls.

Spent three hours on the board this morning and feel as though I’ve played two games of rugby. :-(
Still had a fabulous massage from a male masseuse last night, heh heh :-)

Moi jealous? pfff you wish.

Get Rog to carry the camera if you are that worried, but in truth the risk is slim - I’ve never done anything like that & I’m always carrying a camera or camcorder. It’ll be a shame if there are no pics of you skiing - I’d love to put one on the blog. Pretty please?

Was he a rich elderly masseuse by any chance ;)

Yes, but of course you don’t ski at anywhere near my level :-)

How would you know? I’m a pretty reasonable skiier though a bit of a slacker I’ll admit. And we only have your word you’re any good. Anyway you only have 2 days left, nya nya.

Ruthie has finally won an international award for her talents…yes, Ruthie’s quiz team cleaned up at the resort pub quiz last night. Ruthie always knew that her encyclopaedic knowledge of national flags would come in useful one day. (Turkey, ok easy..but Czech republic?) So she will be enjoying the fruits of her labour tonight: free Pizza. :-)
And yes..I’ve taken some pictures. Including some of me on my bottom.

You have an encyclopaedic knowledge of flags? Wow, you must be fun at parties. And do you know which way up is wrong for the Union Jack? I hope not.
