I've tried most, and the two best, to my mind, are: bbPress: http://bbpress.org/. That's the software they use on the WP.org support website, and it's bloody good. RSDiscuss: http://www.sargant.com/blog/wordpress-plugins/rs-discuss/ . Not as powerful, but easier to implement. Crucually, it uses the same user database as your Wordpress install itself, so people don't have to re-register for either the blog or the forum once they've registered for one. Hope this helps.
