Uk Legal Blogging Conference 2007

This is something Geeklawyer will now arrange since there is clearly sufficient interest. Sponsorship & publicity is needed. There is a special static blog page for the arrangements and also a discussion forum.

  • Hi Geek Lawyer, Sounds like a great idea. Count me in. I have a bunch of newsletters which go out to around 17,000 people (see http://www.lawbriefpublishing.com) and will certainly put notice of it in there. Also, I have put a link to your blog on my own (http://timkevan.blogspot.com). Any chance of a link back to my blog? No worries if you can't Best wishes, Tim Kevan

  • Thanks Tim. Eclectic site! Linkable though, as it's largely on topic.

  • Networking through the inter-network.

    Who would have thought?

Next thing we know we will be dabbling in DAB, posting our posts in arrears (i.e. post), and watching our watches.

Man is more inventive with invectives.

  • Yup, this Intarweb thingy is so useful. I hear it has even just got one lucky lawyer a shiny new job.

  • Ruthie... after a number of requests promises to attend the conference in her pink leathers.

Now if that doesn't attract some sponsorship...

  • I now anticipate an extra large crowd of lecherous dirty lawyers. And how the hell will we control Dan Hull?

Still we can bump the door price up.

Now, about the suspender belt: how do I persuade you to wear it ;)

  • Under my leathers? What would be the point?!!

  • 1) Why a forum? Surely comments on ongoing posts is more appropriate to the context? Pointing us to your Blogging Conference category should do the trick.

    2) Format? I thought the suggestion was for informal, chummy drinks plus optional curry and that the word "conference" was a typical Geeklawyer tongue-in-cheek appellation.

    3) "Delegates"? If we limit it to current bloggers only, numbers should be more predictable, ie relatively small and the 40 person venue would work.

    4) Cost? By God, how much do you drink?

  • Cost will hopefully be as small as possible but I'll take your view on cost into account. Sadly the money will not be going to pay my bar tab.

I hope to make it informal but talks will be useful; I for one don't really believe I know everything, whatever Ruthie may say.

As for blogs v forums: these are both focussed on different, albeit similar, objectives. Following a tag clunky and incoherent. I'd also like to enable people to start their own threads of discussion if they wish rather than relying on me.

  • OKkey kokey. I'll use the forum.

  • oh well, I guess no wacky canadian accountants can come as this is a "legal blawgers conference"...le sigh. How shall I spend my holiday time now? I know not.

  • Mary: if you want to come from Canada for a day you are, of course, welcome. Shall I pencil you in? :)

  • If you read the list dear Geekie you will notice that I am seriously contemplating an excursion to the UK. Depending on the conference date I would be delighted to join in on the supping of rioja, bacardi breezers and the delectations of british curry.
