Added Lawyers against software patents. Geeklawyer think this is from a UK lawyer - and definitely a European one. He doesn’t seem to be an IP/IT lawyer from what Geeklawyer can infer but his blog is interesting if a little infrequent.
Pupilblog is hugely engaging so far: the tortured writhings of a chap undergoing a pupillage at some criminal set.
Every emotion that pupils experience is on display: fear insecurity paranoia and humiliation in their inadvertent and ritual forms. He does however have, to Geeklawyer’s ear, the rather curious habit of referring to his pupilmaster as ‘Master’; which sounds a bit BDSM and if so, well, fine, do what you have to to get a tenancy. At his old chambers we pupils simply referred to to our pupilmasters by christian name. But that was in the mists of time & legend and Geeklawyer guesses that different chambers have different protocols. And informality should not be necessarily taken as respect on either side: we disliked them they disliked us (or certainly Geeklawyer). Though Pupilblog should note that they offered Geeklawyer a tenancy despite his consummate lack of impressing.
Ah, the fond memories.
Like Pupilblog… good stuff.
I have been traumatised by Justin Patten’s post on Human law about a City Law firm who have a blog… with, inter alia, an employee telling us how good it is to be part of a team at that firm… etc etc…
I am going to watch the cricket at The WACA… and, may watch ‘Saturday Kitchen’ (BBC1) tomorrow morning to steal a few ideas for a meal which I wish to cook tomorrow night. (Mon dieu… I am living live on the edge these days)
Pupilblog is brilliant, thanks for the link.
whenever I have those fleeting moments of wishing that I had become a lawyer, it makes the perfect antidote.

‘Tortured writhings’? Too true. Am heartened that my experiences are providing some amusement value for others, at least!
Pupilblogger: take heart. Pupillage is hell and then things get worse as you hunt for a tenancy; after that, if you get it, things gets really bad.
Enjoy the good bit
