Actually Ruthie discovered a very interesting fact about Geeklawyer this week: he has a first class degree. And this is from the days when firsts really meant something.

Ruthie was not as surprised as she feigned to be. Admittedly Geeklawyers degree is in physics where its not easier to get a first, but maybe easier to make a qualative analysis about correctness in a way that is not possible with, say, law.

Ruthie is curious as to whether any of our readers have firsts. Wouldn't surprise me if Charon and Liadnan have got firsts. And before you ask, Ruthie has a perfectly respectable 2.1

Ruthie was one of the last years to qualify at the Bar where the Inns of Court was the only place where it was possible to take the course. For her year, you had to pass an exam before they would even let you in, and then also get a minimum 2.1. I'm curious to know about other peoples experiences.

Regular readers will know that Ruthie is a petrolhead, a fan of all items vehicular. She therefore purchased a new convertible car a week and a half ago, all shiny black sleekness with leather interior and motorised roof. I'd tell you the make an model, but since I am now a minor celebrity judging from my Google status, I don't want to encourage paparazzi.

If Ruthie had engaged her brain for a moment she would have applied for a 10 mile exclusion zone to keep Geeklawyer away from her new baby. But no, she was clearly befuddled by the sight of its sheer beauty and assumed that everyone else (including Geeklawyer) would treat this object of desire with the veneration it deserves.

But no. He scratched it. This is becuase he is a CACK-HANDED OAF.

Ruthie will think of a suitable punishment in due course, but cleaning my kitchen floor with his tongue may be sufficient recompense, as long as he also shoves a feather duster up his arse and dusts the ceiling as he goes along.
