Ruthie plays with toys

No, not merely a pathetic attempt to get our hit rate up, but a description of Ruthie in the Apple Mac shop yesterday.

After the sustained efforts of readers to convert Ruthie to Mac, she decided to go and see what all the fuss was about. And indeed she was impressed.

So clear. So easy to use. So why is it that only geeks use Mac when its so much easier than a PC for lamers like Ruthie?

Ruthie particularly liked the integral webcam and microphone, and the drive built into the screen. And such a cool trendy white screen it is too.

No, I haven’t been paid by Apple to write this. But if anyone from Apple is reading this and would like to send me a Mac to play with for a couple of months, I’ll be more than happy to write an article about its wonderfulness for you.

For Geeklawyer there is only one downside. Purchase of a Mac will enable Ruthie to podcast, which she has been having singular difficulty doing to date. (Unassisted by Geeklawyer’s surly non-co-operation naturally).

Geeklawyer knows of course in his heart the awful truth: once you hear my podcasts you’ll much prefer me. He’s trying to get a headstart at worming his way into your affections…

I wish you much luck in staging your coup.

I too have a Mac and feel it is a wonderful piece of technology. Alas, I haven’t podcasted yet.

You see Ruthie?: Mary uses a Mac and she isn’t a geek (though she does hang around with them - but geekness is not absorbed osmotically).

“Ruthie particularly liked the integral webcam and microphone”

…until, that was, shortly after her Mac was 0wnd and a horrified lady lawyer discovered video of her ‘private chambers’ on lustylawyers.com.

GL denied any connection between that and his new porsche.

Oh just get one.

Consider it a blow against monoculture, against the local male voice monopoly and for aesthetics in everyday life.

And they’re now downright cheap for the spec, which hasn’t been the case for ages.

You can then challenge MJ to hax0r your Mac, because it ain’t easy.

I assume this is something to do with making it sick. I’m told that Macs don’t get diseases, as so few people own them the hackers can’t be bothered.
