Yesterday was world peace day. Instances of kindness, compassion and patience broke out and a global absence of killing was reported.
If only it were so. Civilian deaths in Iraq have now increased massively from 720 in the month of January to 100 per day this month. Despite huge technological advances we seem to be behaving more like cavemen/women than ever.
“History will prove me right” said Mr. Blair. Indeed. Human beings are selfish and violent and engage in conflicts primarily to promote their own interests. But centuries of so-called civilization have already proved that.
