Fed up of Wet Mondays? Tell the government.

Demonstrations without a licence are now banned within one mile of Parliament. However the easiest licence to get is the one man one placard kind, which requires only six days notice to the police. Next Thursday there will be a mass solitary protest. Protesters united in their agreement not to agree, chant in time or march in any particular direction but simply united in a common understanding that the current restrictions on the right to protest are simply wrong.

Look forward to protests about Wet Mondays, Reliant Robin drivers or indeed the wearing of pink leathers in public (now how could the police refuse licences for such protests?) to illustrate the farcical nature of the current law.

‘mass solitary’ protest? err I don’t fancy running that one past the House of Lords.

Like the Great British public it will simply be a gathering of individuals…
