Breaking news: insecure men marry poor stupid women.

A recent articles in Forbes magazine urges men to marry not to marry career women. (A career women being defined as any woman that has a university degree, works more than 35 hours outside the home and earns more than 20k). “Career women” are, according to the article, more likely to divorce, less likely to have children and be more unhappy when they do. i.e. less likely to put up with shit, because they have other options.

Ruthie knows a few men from law school who married women who would not challenge their masculinity. 6 years on, these women now having fulfilled their intended reproductive function, these men return home from court to a conversation about daytime TV and the antics of the knitting circle. They then take mistresses, and the limited pool of women prepared to fulfill that role can pack in 5 rich men a week who will spend lots of money and always be on their best behaviour. Unfortunately current divorce legislation means that when the wife finds out she’s in for a generous pay out and probably custody of the kids.

Surely so much easier and more fun to marry someone that is your intellectual equal and who stays with you because they want to, rather than because they have no choice.

The reality is that a woman’s chance of marriage decreases for every point increase in IQ. Odd, considering that intelligence is a desirable survival characteristic. It seems that male insecurity outweighs the biological imperative.

Ruthie… what are you smoking?

Charon does not feel the need to trouble the Registrar for Marriages any longer - and after the Macca fiasco and all this nonsense from the Family Division in recent weeks about absurd amounts of money being distributed (yawn) … it must be sensible - man or woman - to remain in a state of grace called ‘unmarried’

Why marry anyone? the Courts have done what not even Lucifer could do - ruin romance and family life.

I willl never marry again.. because I have absolutely no desire for the courts or government to interfere with my private life… there is, of course, the alternative construction, that no-one would wan’t to marry someone who is a cartoon.

I think the Macca v Macca situation (which will receive a lot more publicity than the endlessly tedious law reports about divorce with moderately rich investment bankers ) will actually destroy the institution of marriage.

I do hope so… but as I am not a religious man (unless you consider worship of the Roman gods - Mars, Diana, Bacchus and Jove ‘religious’) I shall continue to do as I am doing -
I may end up single…. I may end up delrious from blawging too much… but at least i won’t be subject to the jurisdiction of The family Division.

I am now off to see what the tabloids have come up with for Sunday

Do I detect a *low blow* from the IQ challenged of the partnership, though to be fair I know neither of your IQs, and I stopped testing mine at age 14, when I was anxious to know what it was, and got my highest quotient score half an hour after coming round from a General Anaesthetic!

It’s OK, that almost includes Ruthie, if you stretch the term marry to ‘date’!
