Work to rule

Readers may have noticed a decrease in Ruthie’s recent output. Following the cruel, un-necessary and crucially unannounced deletion of her profound and moving post about youth protest rappers by our learned webmaster, Ruthie, after consultation with her lawyers and union representative, has been working to rule.

As a consequence Geeklawyer has realised how empty the blog is without her, how shallow..etc [lawyers please fill something in here].

It has therefore been agreed that any deletion should be a last resort after consultation and suggestion of editorial amendments. (Except if I’ve written something potentially defamatory in which case I’ll be delighted to get it whipped off).

Editorial control will of course remain with our Lord and Master, but a meaningful democracy is obviously difficult with two people; you’re either unanimous or split down the middle..) In the event of an unresolved dispute over qualitative issues an independent arbiter can be appointed from our readership, whose decision will be respected by both parties.

On that basis, normal service will be resumed.

I see that you like living dangerously, Ruthie!

Hope you enjoy your new motorbike :-)

You are of course the obvious choice for the job, but I think Geeklawyer may consider you to be biased :-)
Plus I’m not sure we can afford your fees.

Interesting that you mention the motorbike. You must mean the brand new Hyosung Aquila GV650 (powder blue) that I’m taking delivery of on Saturday.

Oh and I have some new pink leathers arriving next week.

Curious isn’t it how the most vociferous liberals go very quiet when the rights of others start to impinge upon them. I’ve always taken the view that its easy to be a Socialist if you are very poor or very rich: either way taxation has little meaningful impact on your life.

I mentioned early on when I started writing for this blog that it was my intention one day to take over. I seem to have achieved my objective by stealth, judicious flaunting of pink leathers and wanton ingratiation with the regular readership such that the blog can no longer function without me.

Geeklawyer amusingly commented today that all revolutions take place when the leader is out of the country..

In truth I feel we have achieved the kind of state described by relationship counselling booklets as “co-dependence”. I wouldn’t last two seconds trying to manage the techy side of the blog: Geeklawyer would look silly in pink leathers. We each have our unique role in life :-)
