And it was quite a pleasure to see the Aussie football team take a hiding (in fact the did rather well but they didn't get through) so most Englishmen took a measure of revenge in that. But we can at least whoop aussie arse in <a rel="nofollow" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiddlywink">tiddlywinks</a> At least with English v Antipodean rugby (cricket etc etc ) you know in advance the English are going to get a stuffing so one is well psychologically insulated from the inevitable. I went to the England Australia game a couple of weeks ago, and I can't say that the performance was one to inspire hope. If they don't get any better, we can look forward to them going down in a hard fought game against the Cook Islands come next year's world cup.
