Geeklawyer has decided that it is only right that you should be able to initiate issues and comments yourselves. He has therefore graciously provided a chat forum in which you can make fools of yourselves without his assistance.
In order to use the forum you will need to go to the Geeklawyer chat forum and register with a valid email address. Users are in two categories: lawyers and non-lawyers; the lawyers category will include not just lawyers but academics and others legal professionals, including pupils/BVC and those on an LPC/training contract (more in deference to their aspirations than status) but not law undergraduates. The lawyers have a private forum and Geeklawyer will personally validate them before permitting them access to it; they will need to explicitly request validation as per the instructions given in the forum.
Non-lawyers will nonetheless be able to ask challenging questions such as “I killed my girlfriend, cut her up with a knife and disposed of the bits in the rubbish bin. I made a video and sold it. Can anyone here get me off the murder charges?”
For lawyers there will be a jobs section as well as other professional stuff.
Geeklawyer is seldom seen to grovel as it is rather undignified, but: please please help make this a success by registering and recommending it to your friends & colleagues. Wouldn’t you rather waste time on my forum than work?
Enjoy!
And even better you can get to chat to Ruthie. xxx
I have to begrudgingly admit the forum is quite good, and quite funny please do get involved.
You’ll be in competition with the RoF board, but why not..
RoF is good in terms of it’s user input but the design is utter crap. Though better to have lots of users and crap software than the other way round, but its early days and time will tell if my forum builds a userbase. I really think mine has more potential though.
I’ve never used RoF, and I must say I find the design complex, and difficult to use. I was attracted to this site because it is so simple to use. I suspect the profile of people we get will be different, but my impression is also that people become loyal to sites that they use reguarly.
