Microsoft and Yahoo have this week determined to challenge Google’s dominance in online advertising. Currently Google controls 50% of the online advertising market, worth some 14 billion dollars a year. The key to successful online advertising is to match the adverts to the searches, and to the demographic of the readership. Presumably this site will now be peppered with ads for comics graphic novels, role play games and dark coloured casual clothing.
Whoa, a geek posting. Help. I’m turning into a nerd.
Help. I’m turning into a nerd.
A quick point on Geek culture is appropriate Ruthie: Geeks and nerds are different. Nerds are our dimmer cousins. So you certainly are capable of being a nerd, but never a geek.
I understand this revenue making stuff depends on us punters clicking on the links.
I saw the Advert for pop-up free surfing from Firefox at the top of the blog with the instruction to “Click the button on the right to download Firefox. It’s free.”
Now am I falling into a Geek trap for unwary nerds?
Who knows, here goes - WHAT BUTTON ?
The only button I could see was the “search” button.
PS Glad I won’t get to confuse the Geeklawyer with nerdy Ruthie
PPS I assume this post will be deleted once the button is programmed, or left to posterity if it makes a better joke with a button visible to all anti-accountants.
It’’s not you. There was a problem with getting the script to work properly - it worked when first installed & then broke so it’s been removed for the time being.
