  Now that petrol is reaching a pound a litre what other excuse do you need to rush out and buy a motorcycle? Ruthie suggests the following wording..

  “Hey [insert name of partner here] I really think we need to economise so we can buy you more shoes and handbags/powertools/holidays in Spain/Chelsea season tickets (delete as appropriate) so I’ve decided to cut down on fuel costs by purchasing a motorbike…

  Never mind that the first years insurance and top of the range leathers will wipe out any saving that you might have made. The acceleration will mean they can never catch you to complain.

  Suffering from a wingeing partner? Site them pillion. Can’t hear a word they say, and once they’re on, they can’t get off.
