boingboing alerts Geeklawyer to a new software toy that lets you watch video feeds on the Internet just like they were TV. The idea is that it pulls RSS feeds in from various sites, presents them as channels for you to choose and then downloads them in the background. When downloading is finished you just click on play to run the inbuilt player. The player itself has no DRM crap or other crippleware inhibiting creativity or your rights. It’s just too good for the Man to let it survive.
It’s inevitable that since most of the videos are amateur the production values can be somewhat, erm, ‘limited‘. Nonetheless all highly entertaining. Particularly recommended is Rocketboom feed hosted by hot piece of tottie amanda congdon.
Democracy in the UK may be dying but you can get the ‘net version here.
