Fundamentalist law schools?! WTF

Craggie.net writes to Geeklawyer with news of the creation of a fundamentalist law school by a dodgy sounding ‘Liberty University’ and that has now got the approval of the American Bar Association. Presumably they will now churn out row upon row of presentable young men with identical suits, nice short haircuts all clutching bibles and chanting “the leader is good, the leader is great”.

Craggie points out, by way of justifiable mockery, that they fine students $250 for “association with those consuming alcohol?” One presumes the school is cool with them talking to murderers and child-rapists. So long as it’s not social chit-chat. Honestly, at times America is the only country to make the UK look normal.

Geeklawyer happily concedes the right of loony christians to do this, but conversely looks forward to the first Satanist law school and will cheerfully, and for free, give the first seminar: “Sacrificing virgins and babies: a constitutional objective?”

“Presumably they will now turn out row upon row of presentable young men with identical suits…”

Isn’t that what our law schools are turning out now that poor people with ability and talent can no longer afford to qualify? Ruthie gets sick of meeting pupils in regulation three piece suits who went to the bar because daddy thought it would be a respectable thing to do.

Ruthie thinks they taste nice…if a little chewy. The market sorts them out in the end of course, but the pool of talent grows ever weaker.

Satanist law school? Crowley’s “do what thou whilt shall be the whole of the law” doesn’t leave much room for jurisprudence…
