chinese trademarks

Geeklawyer noticed an encouraging sign that China is coming in from the cold. A Chinese IP court held in favour of Starbucks against an imitator. On the instant facts there was nothing groundshaking in the judgement but the fact that it was made at all is a good thing.

As economies progress respecting others IP becomes a necessity. The only concern Geeklawyer has is whether they will maintain the balance of public interest-v-private gain. Something that has failed lamentably in some many ways in the West.
