Law society and blawging

Geeklawyer had a slightly perplexing encounter with the Law Society. Blawgs have rolled onto their horizon and some intrepid employee contacted Geeklawyer in relation to an article they were to write.

As one of the few UK lawyers to blawg they wanted some comments from yours truly. But they would only do so as part of some round table discussion at mission control in Chancery Lane. Email was not, it seems, a good enough medium to acquire views.

Lawyers and judges are often unjustly mocked for their lack of the modern touch, but examples such as this do make one wonder.

Still, at least they had the good sense to refuse point blank to use the word ‘blawg‘: all is not lost.

Update, 2 December 2005: Geeklawyer hates to eat humble pie but it seems email is good enough after all.

I regards to the use of the word ‘blawg’ - have you seen this week’s Gazette… It seems they don’t have as much good sense as you credited them with!
