I need one of those little favicon.ico things for my web server. Oddly the Gimp doesn’t know this format but its do-able under Linux. Apparently you need to create a 16×16 pixel image saved as favicon.pnm or .ppm in raw format.
Then use the netpbm commandline tools:
“>ppmtowinicon -output favicon.ico favicon.pnmâ€Â
I’ll give it a go once I’ve got my head around a geeklawyer icon
